How we can work together
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or CBT is a therapy that is focused on understanding difficulties and why it is that it's not got better on it's own. In this way, it focuses on maintaining patterns and using tools, strategies and techniques to stop that cycle. In my practice, I also integrate tools from various second and third wave therapy modalities, including Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Acceptance and Committment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)  to help you develop understanding and process your difficulties.
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is an exciting therapy that uses eye movements and other forms of 'bilateral stimulation' to help the brain use it's natural way of healing to process traumatic and/or distressing memories. Predominantly used as a treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), it is also useful for working with anxiety disorders and depression where early memories may have triggered distress. Sessions are typically 90 minutes long and clients have described the process as 'magical'.
Coaching
Using my training as a Yoga Teacher (200 hrs; 80 hrs Pre-Natal, Post-Natal and Mother and Baby Yoga; Musco-skeletal and Thai Yoga Massage CPD), psychotherapist and earlier career as a Social Worker, my coaching sessions are a less formal space to support you to identify blocks getting in the way of reaching your goals and help solve current problems. We use valuable tools including but not limited to yoga and mindfulness, informal meditation practices and movement to develop understanding of patterns, develop resilience and cope with life’s obstacles.
Group Therapy
A great option for those wanting to understand and learn about their experience in comparison to others. Depending on capacity and those interested, I can offer CBT group therapy for a variety of difficulties.
You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.
